Must a health center appoint a DPO?
It all depends on the scale of processing: patient base monitored, volume, permanence, number of centers run by the managing body. A multi-center managing body very often reaches large scale; a standalone center is assessed case by case. In any event, a voluntary appointment usefully structures governance — we qualify the point during a free first call.
Can the DPO cover several centers?
Yes: the same external officer can be designated for several organizations under a service contract (Article 37(6) GDPR), provided they remain reachable and effectively able to perform their tasks for each of them. It is the most efficient format for a multi-center managing body.
Who is responsible: the center or the professionals?
